Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Controller, the Junior Accounting and Controls Analyst is responsible for the proper accounting of applicable activities within the Division of Business Services. This includes general accounting and close activities, reconciliation of revenues and balance sheet reporting. This position will be responsible for updating and maintaining contracts in RevenueVision, and assists in complying with local tax requirements. This individual will collaborate with colleagues on the Business Services Finance Team and appropriate business partners as required.

Job Responsibilities
- Execute accounting entries of daily operations for departments
within the Division of Business Services which would include
processing revenue recognition, interdepartmental billing, and
revenue and expense accruals.
- Timely closing of financial periods including balance sheet
reporting and flux analysis, in accordance with the University
accounting close calendar.
- Monthly review, calculations, and payments of taxes on
departmental revenue.
- Understand, adhere, and execute annual tax reporting (UBI) as
required.
- Reconcile activities to the general ledger.
- Compile and present reconciliation discrepancies to the
appropriate department for investigation and resolution.
- Maintain list of discrepancies and escalates matters to ensure
timely resolution.
- Identify areas for process improvements through analysis of
discrepancy trends.
- Perform compliance checks on applicable programs.
- Assist in monitoring procurement activities for compliance with
University policy.
- Partner with Controller and Assistant Controller to update and
maintain web-based contract management tool.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree with 1 to 2 years of experience, or
equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. 3
to 5 years of experience is preferred.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
