Position Title
Director of Leadership Giving

Overview

Develop and lead a leadership giving program with a focus on the qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of next generation fundraising to directly impact the year-over-year growth of The Fund for Providence College and establish a sustained pipeline for major gifts.

Remote hybrid work is available at a maximum of two days per week based on approval.

Essential Duties:
  1. Create, direct, and manage a leadership giving program aimed at significantly increasing annual support to The Fund for Providence College and donors giving at leadership levels of ($1,917+).
  2. Provide essential leadership and guidance for gift officers to maximize fundraising productivity, setting performance standards, individual metrics, and routine evaluation of goals. Provide on-going training of staff to ensure strong solicitation skills and fluency in raising support for The Fund for Providence College, as well as other funding priorities of the College. Regularly review prospect portfolio prioritization and qualification outreach methods to maximize staff outreach efforts and move as many prospects through the qualification stage.
  3. Utilize data and industry best-practices to develop program systems, strategies, and standards to identify, qualify, and cultivate leadership-level donors and increase revenue to The Fund for Providence College. Oversee the creation, prioritization, and review of prospect portfolios to ensure fluidity of pools to move prospects quickly through qualification efforts.
  4. Manage a portfolio of 80-100 leadership level prospects. Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward leadership level gifts ($1,917+).
  5. Work closely with annual giving and alumni relations colleagues, as well as other development division leaders (i.e. major gifts, corporate/foundation relations, planned giving, stewardship). Maximize engagement opportunities as a means to qualify and cultivate prospects. Leverage relationships with other departments for knowledge/skill sharing.


Marginal Duties:
  1. Perform all other duties as may be required.


Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years’ of relevant experience in advancement, preferably in higher education, with a focus on annual and leadership giving or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in leading a fundraising program, alumni, and reunion giving is preferred.
  • Experience in higher education and managing a large number of employees and budgets preferred
  • Strong management, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including prospect management, written and oral presentation, and volunteer and staff coordination
  • Ability to work with colleagues inside the institution and across the profession
  • Must be able to travel regularly and work flexible hours, when needed, including weekends and evenings
