General Statement of Job

The Clinical Coordinator serves multiple functions within the Department of Radiology and requires classroom, lab and/or clinical teaching.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

ssential Duties:

Essential duties as required by JRCERT

Correlates clinical education with didactic education.

Evaluates students.

Coordinates clinical education and evaluates its effectiveness.

Cooperates with the program director in periodic review and revision of clinical course materials.

Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.

Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.

Assists Director with administrative duties as assigned.

Facilitates student learning through instruction, didactic and clinical mentoring with students.

Manages student clinical records; including approved of time summaries and verification of student competencies.

Participates and provides input on measures that are part of the department assessment plan.

Creates clinical rotation schedules each semester for students and shares with other radiology programs as appropriate

Keeps up with mandatory annual education required by clinical sites, MSSU and JRCERT.

Communicates with the Director frequently regarding clinical and didactic activities (once per week formal meeting and throughout each week).

Provides remedial clinical training to students as needed and requested by the Director.

In cooperation with Director, designs, implements and communicates clinical schedules to clinical sites and students in a timely manner to assure students have equitable access to all clinical rotations.

In cooperation with the Director, remediates problems and comes up with solutions to clinical site issues that arise.

Maintains awareness and input and enforces student compliance with the policies and procedures as prescribed by the MSSU Radiology Policies and Procedures Manual.

Maintains awareness of clinical sites policies and procedures and helps to enforce student compliance.

Maintains awareness of the program mission and goals.

Performs other tasks as requested by the Director or MSSU.

Education, Experience, and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in radiology or a related field is required.

Current ARRT registration, CPR certification, two years of full-time experience as an R.T. (R) and one year of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT – approved program required.

Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet the university’s insurance requirements for driving university vehicles.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Requires the ability to use computers for data entry, word processing and spreadsheets.
