Summary/Objective

Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Academic Integrity, within the office of the Deputy Provost and Dean of Faculty, this position provides support to the adjudication of all academic integrity cases, University-wide. This involves coordinating and managing the University's processing of complaints of Academic Integrity Code violations for undergraduate and graduate students, communicating with students and faculty, scheduling initial meetings with students and the relevant office personnel, and convening panels from faculty pools to adjudicate cases as needed. The person serving in this role also manages AIC records and track data across multiple platforms; training others in the use of these platforms may be required.The remainder of effort is in supporting the University's creation of a new academic integrity policy and accompanying programming: this will involve coordinating events, trainings, and workshops for faculty, staff, and students, in conjunction with multiple Canvas services and offices.

Essential Functions
  1. Academic Integrity scheduling– Manage the academic integrity office, providing support for investigations of alleged violations of the University’s Academic Integrity Code. Organize and schedule meetings for office staff, students, and faculty involved in cases. Schedule panel hearings, coordinating with faculty and students.
  2. Academic integrity record-keeping – collect, manage, and organize academic integrity data across multiple platforms, compile data to assemble data reports for the office and relevant stakeholders.
  3. Academic integrity – event planning – Field requests for and coordinate events associated with academic integrity programming across the University, including workshops and trainings. This also includes regular events such as training for panelists and support persons (multiple trainings per semester).
  4. Academic integrity communications – Manage official communications from office to relevant parties, including faculty, staff, and students. Communicate with relevant outside parties to curb intellectual property issues (sharing of faculty content) on web-based platforms.
  5. General assistance in managing office workflow and as needed with other reporting or special projects as needed by office.

Required Education and Experience
  • H.S. Diploma.
  • 1-3 Years' progressive responsibility in an administrative position.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and good organization, communication, and customer service skills, teamwork and flexibility.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training and experience.

This position is part of a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 500. That means the terms and conditions of your employment are governed by university policy (including the Staff Personnel Policies Manual) and any collective bargaining agreement entered into between American University and SEIU Local 500.
