Reporting to the President, the Executive Director for Institutional Research and Planning has broad responsibility for institutional research, reporting and analysis; support of institutional and organizational effectiveness; and development, enhancement, and maintenance of information resources to support strategic, tactical, and operational planning. The Executive Director will work collaboratively with the campus leadership team to link planning and assessment, budgeting, policy development, and strategic decision making.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support university-wide efforts in using evidenced-based assessment practices for effective planning and campus-wide improvement
  • Manage and report institutional data required by external agencies including, but not limited, to the U.S. Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges
  • Collaborate with senior university administrators to ensure that accurate data and documentation is available to meet their needs relative to strategic planning, decision making, and budgeting
  • Provide oversight and supervision for institutional planning, assessment, research, evaluation strategies, and trend analysis and predictive analytics for environmental scanning around enrollment, financial aid leveraging, and other topics
  • Develop other projects, reports, research, or analysis as directed by the President
  • Other duties as assigned

     

Requirements Include:

  • Master's degree in data management, higher education administration, assessment, educational research, business, or related field; doctoral degree preferred
  • Five plus years of work in a related discipline in higher education such as planning, assessment, research, or analysis, as well as managerial experience; preferred experience in institutional research and forecast modeling
  • Highly effective leadership, organizational and administrative skills, with knowledge of best practices in accreditation, institutional assessment, evaluation, and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated ability to lead groups working in a collaborative, strategy-driven environment

  • Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, and analyze data
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
