The Moores School of Music at the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts invites applications for a one-year (nine month) appointment as Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor of Choral Music beginning in Fall 2023 semester.
This faculty member will direct two large ensembles and teach additional coursework depending on the qualifications and interests of the successful candidate. These might include undergraduate conducting classes, rehearsal techniques classes, vocal technique, voice class, choral literature, applied conducting, etc.
This faculty member will work closely with the Director of Choral Activities in all administrative aspects of the Choral Area including recruiting, community outreach, publicity, scheduling, choral placement auditions, oversight of a cappella groups, etc.

Qualifications :
Master’s Degree in Music with significant choral conducting experience; DMA/Ph.D. preferred. Documented and demonstrated success as a choral conductor is preferred, as is a combination of K-12 and collegiate teaching experience.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial, gender, sexual orientation, and cultural barriers.
