Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, administrative faculty position as a tenured Professor or tenured Associate Professor and Executive Director of Institutional Assessment in the Office of Academic Excellence within Academic Affairs that begins as early as August 1, 2023.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in building a culture of assessment within all academic units across the university.
  • Provides expertise and guidance for the faculty to design and conduct meaningful, manageable, and effective assessments.
  • Bridges the implementation of meaningful academic assessment with SACSCOC and University System of Georgia policies.
  • Oversees annual assessment planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborates with the Curriculum Support Office to ensure new and revised programs have high quality assessment plans in place for implementation.
  • Provides consultation and support to faculty and administrators in the development of valid and reliable assessment measures and appropriate analysis strategies for the data collected in all stages of the continuous improvement process. This includes assessment plan development, measurement and data analysis, reporting of results, and use of results for improvement.
  •  Leads the development and delivery of assessment training, drop-in “help” sessions, and workshops for faculty, staff and administrators.
  • Promotes the use of learning analytics and the identification of novel and innovative solutions to improve student learning and student success.
  • Supports the university’s accreditation and reaffirmation process as requested.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications Include

  • A doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, with an academic background and appropriate credentials to be a tenured Associate Professor or tenured Professor in an academic department/school at KSU.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in higher education program assessment and/or faculty development in teaching and learning at a regionally accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current assessment issues, trends, and methodologies relating to higher education assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop course and program assessments to measure students learning outcomes for undergraduate and graduate programs in face-to-face, online, and mixed modality programming.
  • Experience using digital tools to gather, analyze, and visualize assessment of learning data and use of learning analytics.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, administrators, and the public.

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Knowledge of trends in learning analytics, student success indicators, and predictive analytics.
  • Ability to tell stories with data using data visualization software such as Tableau, Excel, or SPSS.
  • Experience designing and facilitating general education assessment.
  • Direct experience supervising faculty and/or staff.
  • Experience working with specialized and/or regional accreditors including SACSCOC at the college or institutional level.
  • Experience analyzing and summarizing quantitative and qualitative data, including survey results, focus groups, and institutional data.
