The division provides researchers, engineers, and managers with information and resources to navigate the complex landscape of academic publishing, research data management, as well as U.S. and international policies on open access. Reporting to the Research Publications and Data Management Division Manager, the Open Science Liaison will engage with researchers and engineers on (1) copyright agreements, copyright license selection, and requirements/needs per Lab’s public access policies; (2) classify Scientific and Technical Information (STI) products (e.g. publications, research datasets, technical reports, presentations, posters) under export control rules; and (3) analyze the Laboratory’s STI compliance and generate visual reports to help inform policies and processes. In addition, the Open Science Liaison will (1) review public access reports provided by the DOE, (2) help maintain online web resource content in response to the Lab’s public access requirement policies, and (3) track academic journal impact factors for the Lab’s publications. To apply, please provide your résumé and a brief cover letter with your application. A proud U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory managed by Princeton University, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a longstanding leader in the science and innovation behind the development of fusion energy — a clean, safe, and virtually limitless energy source. With an eye on the future and in response to national priorities, PPPL also has begun a strategic shift from a singular focus on fusion energy to a multi-focus approach that includes microelectronics, quantum information science, and sustainability science. Whether it be through science, engineering, technology or professional services, every team member has an opportunity to make their mark on our world. PPPL aims to attract and support people with a rich variety of backgrounds, interests, experiences, and cultural viewpoints. We are committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility and believe that each member of our team contributes to our scientific mission in their own unique way. Come join us!
