The International Student Coordinator (ISC) is a critical member of the International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) team, which supports over 1,300 international students and scholars at the University of Dayton. ISSS fosters academic, professional, and intercultural development through excellence in immigration advising, advocacy for support and inclusion, cross-cultural programming, and a focus on student success.

The ISC oversees a major portion of the office’s immigration compliance work -- advising students, maintaining records, and managing important immigration data and processes -- while also developing meaningful engagement opportunities to help students make connections with resources and people at UD and in the broader community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree;
Experience teaching, mentoring, or advising students;
Experience developing academic, social, or cultural programming;
Federal regulations require that this position be held by a US citizen or US permanent resident.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Familiarity with SEVIS and F/J immigration regulations;
Experience with ISSM or similar international case management software;
Ability to use technology to communicate and work productively;
Experience analyzing and interpreting data;
Experience developing intercultural programs;
Experience studying, living, or working overseas;
Fluency in a language other than English;
Master's degree in international studies, education, or related field.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel.
