Assistant Coach, Secondary - Men's Tennis
Join our community and experience Emerson College!

The primary responsibility of this position is to work on field with student athletes. In addition the Secondary Assistant Coach will be responsible for scouting teams, breaking down game film and working with the Assistant Coach in practice and game planning.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Helps to identify, engage, attend events where recruits are participating
  • Supports the recruiting process for qualified individuals to Emerson
  • Participates in the process of scouting teams and breaking down game films
  • Partners with the Assistant Coach in practice and game planning
  • Completes project work and administrative duties as assigned by members of the team
  • Participates in teaching and player development
  • Assists Head Coach with practice planning, practice execution, game strategy, and game management


Your Other Responsibilities:
  • Monitors student athletes' academic progress
  • Makes suggestions for process improvements within the department
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or Bachelor's Degree or 2 to 3 years equivalent experience required
  • Prior coaching experience
  • Demonstrated success with recruiting qualified student-athletes
  • Comprehensive understanding of NCAA rules.
  • Experience with Front Rush and film breakdown software
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Good collaborator and team player


Work Conditions
  • Schedule includes nights and weekends
  • Travel is expected throughout the season
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time


COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this position is $17.25.

Grade of Position: 23-02NE

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 9.00
