Adult Protective Services Workforce Innovations (APSWI) is a workforce development program that provides innovative workforce development to Adult Protective Services (APS) professionals. APSWI mission is to provide exceptional learning and development experiences for the transformation of individuals, organizations, and communities to ensure that older adults and adults with disabilities who are vulnerable and experience abuse receive high quality, effective interventions, and services.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the APSWI Curriculum Development Supervisor the Curriculum Development Specialist will develop and oversee the development of curricula that meets the needs of Adult Protective Services (APS) stakeholders. This position also works closely with the county, state and national stakeholders and the APSWI Curriculum Development Supervisor to develop curricula in various modalities (i.e., instructor-led, eLearnings, coaching products), much of which is used as the national standard for APS training. This position will also work closely with APS subject-matter experts on the development of curricula and training tools and enhancements. This position can work remotely from a home office or in-person at the San Diego office. Occasional travel to Sacramento and the Southern California region is required.

ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES PRACTICE IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES (10%)

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in appropriate field related
to the program/project
-OR- - Additional experience may be substituted for the required
education on a year for year basis.
- Three (3) years of previous experience related to the program/project.
- One (1) year of experience leading or coordinating a program
within the industry and/or supervising employees.
(A master's degree may be substituted for years of experience, up to two years)
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field
- Fluency in using standard office packages for report preparation, curriculum development, presentation designs, and other work products as needed
- Experience working in a public adult protective services program
- Experience working in health services, human services or social services for a public agency (example: state or county health and/or human services agency)
- Experience leading collaboratives with local, regional, state and national level APS and/or aging program stakeholders
- Experience planning and coordinating projects and deliverables
- Progressively responsible experience in managing projects
- Two (2) years of experience training and developing curriculum
