Penn Dental Medicine's Multimedia DESIGN & PRODUCTION MANAGER, as part of the Center for Education Technology & Innovation (CETI) is responsible for leading the development of engaging educational instructional, video and multimedia initiatives. This position will serve as project manager and lead designer for pre-production, production and post-production services.

MULTIMEDIA DESIGN/PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Design and develop course contents demonstrating knowledge and experience of multimedia design, development, implementation, and assessments in an academic environment; instructional technology, learning theories, universal design for learning and accessibility practices, and effective assessment of programs. Consult with faculty to incorporate learning technology tools (graphics, multimedia, and productivity software; web-based applications, and other emerging technologies) and open educational resources, based on an active, collaborative, and authentic instructional approach for all delivery methods (face-to-face, hybrid, distance learning). Review faculty developed courses providing recommendations and support for meeting expectations of instructional delivery.

  • Design and develop interactive and multimedia instructional programs and special projects using the latest technology; including but not limited to software, hardware, web-based applications, social media tools, 3-D animation, virtual reality, augmented reality, and other emerging technologies.

  • Maintain working knowledge of traditional production tools and practices, including the care and use of multimedia equipment such as cameras, videography equipment, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, and related studio equipment required to successfully meet faculty project needs.

  • Responsible for detailed project management to develop and deliver high quality developed courses/projects, demonstrating effective oral and written. communication, interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.

    LEADERSHIP OF OPERATIONS/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Evaluate, test, assess, and provide recommendations on emerging multimedia instructional technologies, practices, and technology enhancements.

  • Attend position applicable professional development to improve knowledge and skills.

  • Supervise, lead, manage and train Media Production Specialist, partnering to ensure projects are progressing and developed efficiently as designed.

  • Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvements.

    OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

    Minimum qualifications: A Bachelors degree and 2-3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
