Position Summary

The Associate Dean for Student Affairs reports to the Dean of the College, assists the Dean, and works with the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in all aspects of administration of the College, including: student, faculty, staff, and resource allocation; all matters associated with academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and department and special program curricular matters. The Associate Dean for Students works with the Dean and the Associate Dean for Faculty to represent the College to students, faculty, departments, University administration, and all external stakeholders. The Associate Dean for Students acts for the Dean as needed or as directed.

FLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime)

Anticipated Hiring Range: $9,166 per month - $12,500 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,250 per month - $20,063 per month

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Hours will vary depending on operational needs. Occasional evenings and weekends required.

The mission of the College of Engineering and Computer Science is to focused heavily on producing career-ready engineering, computer science and construction management professionals who possess the critical thinking skills, creativity, communication skills and the problem solving abilities necessary to make an immediate and lasting contribution to their profession. Our sixty-eight full-time faculty members earned their degrees at some of the nation's best universities. They are dedicated to personally educating and training young people, and share a practical, design-oriented philosophy which encourages independent thinking and problem solving. Required Qualifications
  1. An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a field appropriate to one of the disciplines within the College (i.e. engineering, computer science, construction management).
  2. Successful record of teaching, scholarly activity, and service commensurate with a faculty tenured position related to a discipline within the College.
  3. One (1) or more years of experience in academic administration that includes management of fiscal and personnel resources, facilities, research or academic program management and evaluation.
  4. Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional and cooperative working relationships in a diverse environment.
  6. Demonstrated skills in organization, management, problem-solving, and collaborative decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Three (3) or more years of experience in academic administration that includes management of fiscal and personnel resources, facilities, research or academic program management and evaluation.
  2. Experience working with or within a unionized faculty body that operates under a shared governance principle.
  3. Demonstrated creative ability to produce innovative and high-impact initiatives that advance the mission of the College.
