Position Summary
The Director of Transforming Outcomes Project (Director) serves at the pleasure of the President with concurrence of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies. The Director assists the Dean in all aspects of administration of Transforming Outcomes Project (TOPSS). The role serves to ensure that all aspects of TOPSS are operating in accordance with the University mission and policies. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring students receive the highest quality education we can provide and support a timely degree completion program for each major in TOPSS. High impact practices in the areas of leadership, program development, student success, and faculty/staff development are central to this position. This position represents TOPSS to students, faculty, departments, University administration, the California Department of Corrections, the California Community Colleges, and the broader community. The Director collaborates with the CCC to ensure delivery of courses that support CSUS degree programs. The Director acts as a liaison between the University and CDCR leadership and coordination of TOPSS curriculum, student success, and faculty and staff professional development efforts including budget oversight, grant development and internal funds. The Director is responsible for the staff and faculty personnel needs that are unique to TOPSS. Incumbent is responsible for diplomatically addressing and resolving inter-agency issues and concerns, serving as a liaison with University personnel responsible for admissions, financial aid, registration, involved colleges, student affairs, and faculty affairs.
FLSA: Exempt (not eligible for overtime compensation)

Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,583 per month - $8,500 per month, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,583 per month - $14,713 per month

Department Information

Transforming Outcomes Project at Sacramento State (TOPSS) is a four-year degree completion program administered and delivered inside two California state prisons through a partnership of California State University, Sacramento and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. TOPSS is a program of Sacramento State's Division of Academic Affairs under the auspices of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies. Required Qualifications
1. Terminal degree in appropriate discipline. 2. Minimum 1 year of administrative experience in a college and/or correctional facility. 3. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with multiple community partners. 4. Demonstrated success in workplace characterized by collective bargaining and shared governance. 5. Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy appropriate to university level instruction. 6. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement academic programs. 7. Demonstrated ability to lead faculty in academic setting. 8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations that reflect a wide range of cultural backgrounds and social identities. 9. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and propose innovative solutions. 10. Working knowledge of best practices that support student success and to close equity gaps. 11. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. 12. Demonstrated excellence in university teaching and scholarship/professional accomplishments. 13. Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex bureaucratic institutions. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Ability to pass background check - Ability to secure access to California Prisons from the CDCR - Ability to travel to off-site meetings/events. Preferred Qualifications 14. Experience working with the California Community Colleges. 15. Experience working with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). 16. Experience with curriculum development, program planning, and implementation. 17. Experience supporting faculty development. 18. Experience of successful grant writing.

Valid driver's license and maintenance of good driving record, for driving per the Essential Functions of the position.
