Summary
Do you have the ability to develop meaningful and creative content? Are you a strategic and tactical thinker? University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis is currently looking for a dynamic Content Manager to support all departments by creating and maintaining a tone of voice and narrative for the University. In this writing-intensive role, you will be responsible for developing informative and creative communications while ensuring our story is consistent, accurate and strategic in nature.

You will get to:
  • With the Associate Director of Communications, develop, manage, and implement a robust content strategy and calendar
  • Ensure tone, voice and narrative consistency across University communications and channels (website, social, video, etc.)
  • Work with strategists and project managers to conceptualize and define project content needs across various formats of communication
  • Determine opportunities to leverage and reuse existing content across channels
  • Conduct interviews and research for content development
  • Develop content for various clients and communication needs including, but not limited to enrollment services, advancement, social media, website, etc.
  • Maintain and update the Universitys content repository
  • Complete writing projects, meet deadlines and follow content requirements in terms of style and project specifications
  • Review and revise content whenever clients request changes
  • Manage and develop the Universitys internal newsletter
  • Work to understand content strategy best practices across platforms (SEO, social media, etc.)
  • Target a specific set of keywords for all the articles written and published to the website
  • Stay current with content trends and consumer behavior


  • Qualifications
    To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A bachelors degree in communications, writing, English or related field
  • Three plus years of professional writing and content development experience
  • Experience interviewing for story development
  • Must be very articulate, have excellent written and oral communication, including knowledge of copyediting and AP style guidelines
  • Experience editing short-form video is preferred
  • The ability to understand information systems across University functions and departments and to use those systems effectively in a strategic and integrated capacity
  • Strategic and tactical thinking, and short and long-term planning skills are required
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure but maintain attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills, collegiality, and the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people on a variety of channels, and to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt to change
