This position is posted as Part-Time Global Academic Engagement Coordinator, which is a working title. The NAU system title for this position is Part-Time Temporary Academic Program Coordinator.

Job Description

NAU's Center for International Education is hiring for a Part-Time Global Academic Engagement Coordinator. This position assists the Global Academic Engagement (GAE) team with processing incoming international student transcripts, enrolling them in classes (when applicable), coordinating with department advisors to ensure enrollment of students, coding and keeping an organized list of communications between students, advisors, partner schools, and other NAU campus functionary units. Requests syllabi, admissions details, and enrollment reports for four international programs. A key contact for pre-arrival communication, orientation, pickup, and dorm check ins for incoming international students.

Data Management and Organization - 50%

 

 

  • Manage online programs: Pursue Education Alliance (PEA), Global Education & Technology (GET), Global Maximum Educational Opportunities (G-MEO).
  • Request syllabi, admission, coding, and enrollment.
  • Assistance on admission documents reviewing and organizing on 1-2-1, 2-1-1, 2+2, 3+1 and other China dual degree program.
  • Upload students' transcripts into OnBase and make sure the transfer credits are posted.
  • Manage online data, including Student Agreement, Service Indicator and Student group.


Communication and Translation - 40%

 

 

  • Helping with pre-arrival communication, orientation, airport pickup, dormitory check-in and make sure students have a smooth transition to American campus.
  • Student advising appointments via zoom or WeChat calls. Answer to students' WeChat questions.
  • Write a variety of proof letters for students with different purpose.
  • Translation works for marketing materials.

Minimum Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Applicant must be fluent in Chinese to be considered for this position.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

 


Preferred Qualifications

 

 

 

 

  • Highly organized and able to work with a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with WhatsApp and WeChat.
  • Familiar with NAU data recording systems and staff across campus.
  • Experience in translating texts or writing University Letters.

Background Information

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check. Additionally, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States. Finally, each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities. Salary

Hourly rate begins at $19.84. Hourly rate commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

FLSA Status

This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The incumbent is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time according to University policy. Further, the employee must submit timesheets that accurately reflect all hours worked.

Benefits

This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position.
