Job Description

Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech seeks a highly qualified candidate for Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Practice in Finance beginning in Fall 2023 which will be housed at the Northern Virginia Center in the Washington D.C. metro area.
Successful candidates will have a primary commitment to our instructional missions. Duties will include graduate and undergraduate level teaching, curricular, and program development. The teaching load will be 9-12 credit hours per semester. While the primary mode of instruction is in class teaching, from time-to-time online classes may be taught upon request from the department. Other duties may include participating in departmental committees, activities including advising and mentoring students, and participating in department and professional service as assigned by the department head. This position is renewed annually, based on performance. The position does not offer tenure but does offer a clear promotion path with the potential of increasingly long-term contracts.
Duties will include teaching various courses in finance, including but not limited to managerial economics, principles of finance, investments, corporate finance, international finance, and others.

Required Qualifications

Master of Science in Finance or equivalent.
The candidate will have evidence of prior teaching experience in finance or extensive relevant industry experience, and should be committed to the pursuit of teaching excellence, experience interacting with a diverse student population and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Finance
Certified Financial Advisor (CFA) designation
Substantial teaching experience in graduate level courses
