Position Purpose

The Licensing Assistant provides support for the invention disclosure and patenting process, marketing efforts, licensing, and other intellectual property-related activities of the Office of Technology Transfer. Facilitates communication and outreach from the Tech Transfer Office to other Dartmouth departments, faculty, and industry and government representatives as directed. Will report directly to, and receive mentoring from, one or more Business Development and Licensing Manager.

Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

* Bachelors degree.
* Two years of experience in Tech Transfer roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
* Must have excellent organizational and project management skills as well as the ability to multitask. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Initiative, sound judgment and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Proven ability to prioritize and manage a diverse group of activities on a daily basis despite multiple interruptions and handle multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure consistent and efficient workflow and completion of tasks in a timely manner.
* Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Tact, professionalism, and demonstrated experience in working with confidential information.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of computer databases and electronic communications software; ability and initiative to learn new systems and programs.
* Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.

Preferred Qualifications

* Advanced or Terminal degree highly preferred.
* Prior experience with the Wellspring database strongly preferred.
