Position Purpose

Individuals in the Network Engineer role are responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of Dartmouth’s campus network. This responsibility includes all wired and wireless components of the physical network on the Hanover campus in addition to equipment in remote locations. It extends to the network components of data center and cloud infrastructure, maintaining the ongoing operation and automation of the network, the configuration and maintenance of the performance and fault monitoring systems, and escalation on the maintenance and configuration of the cloud-based telephony system. Network Engineers serve as an escalation point for Network Technicians and respond to incidents and problems, and partner with IT organizations within Dartmouth to architect and implement point solutions.

Network Services at Dartmouth College is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team. As our entire campus network is 100% deployed through network automation, we are looking for someone with a DevOps mentality and programming experience to join our journey to improve our platform. Supporting all of the College’s networking needs, from AV deployments to data center networking and internet connectivity, we are looking for someone that can help with the core, distribution, WAN routers, firewalls, and our ever-expanding automation efforts in those areas. We strongly prefer experience with Juniper and Cisco devices, BGP and EVPN . Requirements include programming and scripting experience, with preferred experience in automated deployments, such as Ansible.
