Job Description

The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease, within the School of Medicine is pleased to announce an opening for a Nurse Practitioner Specialty Care or Physician Assistant Specialty Care to join their expanding ID team.

The Department of Medicine's mission is to provide the best care to patients; create an excellent educational experience for students, residents, and fellows; and advance the understanding of human illness and disease through creative and collaborative research.

The Department offers outstanding facilities and a dedicated team of physicians, scientists, nurses and staff members committed to advancement in terms of scientific achievement, clinical service and medical education in 10 core divisions.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians in the Division of Infectious Diseases and assist in a multidisciplinary practice for the treatment of ID-related diagnosis in outpatient settings.
  • Perform essential patient care functions, which support and expand ID care practice.
  • Assist in the organization and clinical processes of ID care.
  • Diagnose and treat infectious diseases in the ID clinics.
  • Assist in the evaluation and assessment of potential infectious diseases.
  • May participate in Telemedicine as an extension of ID care and outreach.
  • Obtain and document a complete and focused history and physical and be able to relate other aspects of medical information to the physicians.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and demonstrate a high level of autonomy in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems.
  • Assists in the identification of trends related to patients and participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Help guide the development and implementation of structure, process, and outcomes standards.
  • Actively participate in clinical research, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Salary

University Title: NURSE PRACTITIONER - SPECIALTY CARE (6435)

Salary Range: $90,251 - $147,285 annually

Grade: PAT - 012

Monday – Friday

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

NURSE PRACTITIONER - SPECIALTY CARE Qualifications (6435)

Master of Science in Nursing degree.

Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Must be granted a “Document of Recognition” from the Missouri Board of Nursing.

For Emergency Medicine appointments: Two (2) years of experience as a nurse practitioner in an acute care area in an emergency medicine setting.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SPECIALTY CARE (6804) Qualifications

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

For Emergency Medicine positions: Two (2) years of experience as a physician assistant in an acute care area or completion of post-graduate PA residency/fellowship in an emergency medicine setting.
