Tufts University seeks an innovative and experienced library technology leader to serve as Director of Library Technology Services. In collaboration with library directors, school leadership, and university administration across the Tufts campuses, the Director provides comprehensive and strategic management of all information technology for university libraries including a compelling vision and direction of technologies that support effective and efficient library operations and services. The Director is a proactive and collaborative partner with library and academic leadership in developing a vision, strategy, and implementation of library technology and digital initiatives.

This oversight and responsibility for this role include budget management, communications, and assessment of the library management system, discovery services, digital repository systems, archival platforms, website services, and other applications that support the mission of the individual libraries across the Tufts campuses. Reporting to the Vice President for Information Technology & CIO (Chief Information Officer), Chris Sedore, the Director of Library Technology Services serves as a member of the CIO Council and the Tufts Libraries Council and supervises a group of talented librarians and technologists that identify, develop and implement technology-intensive solutions that support the libraries at Tufts University.

As a key leader within the technology services team, the Director will have the unique opportunity to integrate IT best practices and develop library services to support one of the country's premier research institutions. The Director will be charged with articulating a compelling and forward-thinking agenda to systematically advance IT operations within the context of the academic library environment. The Director of Library Technology Services will have opportunities to enhance existing library services, while also setting forth a strategy to support critical academic research operations between students, faculty, and staff. The Director leads a team of three which supports the library directors and their staff across Tufts. Working in a highly collaborative environment, the Director will actively cultivate internal and external relationships to deliver key technology service priorities for both the Tufts Libraries and Tufts Technology Services.

The successful candidate will bring extensive academic research library and information technology experience and a record of collaborative leadership from which they will draw upon. They will have exceptional customer service and communication skills, and the capacity to facilitate collaboration and develop systems strategies. The Director must be a strong administrator who will coalesce, inspire, and motivate multiple teams and an accomplished leader who embraces and cultivates the values of diversity, equity and inclusion. They will be driven by enthusiasm and curiosity for the future of library technology services.

This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Salary for the role is currently anticipated to range from $130,000 - $170,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and the qualifications required for this role. In addition, Tufts University offers a generous employee health and benefits package.
