Position Summary:
Job SummaryThis position will provide periodic training at Susquehanna University in the areas including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, AED, Stop the Bleed and Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) guidelines. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.
Specific Responsibilities
- Be available to provide multiple training opportunities no less than twice a year and when the need arises
- Display a courteous and helpful demeanor to all potential customers.
- Build relationships across campus and engage with faculty and staff.
- Willingness to broaden the scope of training offered to the university based on technical expertise.
- Record pass and fail for trainees, follow up and reschedule sessions to ensure 100% pass rate as soon as possible.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing current and relevant training.
- Ability to provide accessible training opportunities for a wide variety of individuals.
- Skilled at written and verbal communication, including formal presentation to groups.
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
Required Qualifications:
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Current APCO training certification or ability to take and pass the APCO certification within 3 months of start date.
ExperienceNo experience required.
Additional Requirements
- CPR, First Aid, AED, and Stop the Bleed certification required or must be taken and passed within your first 3 months of employment.
- This position requires that all certifications remain current.
Physical Demand Position requires the ability to stand or sit during the training sessions. Position requires the ability to talk and to hear instruction. Position requires occasional manual dexterity and the ability to use fingers, hands, and arms to feel, handle, and reach. Position requires occasional stooping, crouching, and bending. Working conditions are mainly indoors.
Preferred Qualifications:
ExperienceA minimum of one year’s training experience is preferred.
