Job Description Summary
The Associate Director of Finance is responsible for supervising and maintaining revenue cycle operations of Ryan Hospital. Within this role is responsibility for Ryan Hospital patient billing and accounts receivable, general ledger system maintenance andmanagement and staff development. A critical aspect of the role will be performing the monthly revenue closing process as well as conducting reconciliations/audits to ensure financial report accuracy. Strong financial knowledge is necessary to produce both standard and ad hoc reporting as requested by senior leadership. Another aspect of this role is the oversight and involvement in charge capture and charge process audit to help ensure that Ryan Hospital is charging appropriately for the services it is providing as well as managing the process consistently and efficiently. The position manages Business Office staff as well as managerial duties related to the Clinical Nurse Analysts and reports up to the Director of Finance.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage all revenue cycle & AR functions and schedules for monthly financial close; these can include revenue reconciliation, supporting schedule and volume reporting, Advanced technical skills and experience in financial & billing systems necessary.
  • Oversee daily cash reconciliation between HIS & BEN financial systems, as well as other daily business office processes. Maintain PCI compliance and participate in all PCI related activities to safeguard account data.
  • Manage and direct regular monthly revenue audit functions, including regular team meetings and monthly/quarterly reporting. Understanding of audit process and reporting will be utilized.
  • Ensure charging and invoicing system integrity by performing regular audits of revenue data, working with IT to find solutions to ensure billing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collections follow up/liaison between Ryan Hospital, legal counsel, and client accounts in collections. Routinely corresponds with third party agencies and occasionally makes independent decisions about acceptable financial terms for settlement.
  • Work with audit and operations teams to develop/enhance/enforce SOPs for all functions relating to charges and business office processes.
  • Manage, mentor, support, and develop Business Office staff and Clinical Nurse Analysts.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Major in Accounting/Business is highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of business office management experience with a focus in healthcare is preferred. Robust experience in revenue cycle management including billing, AR management, cash management and collections. Experience in performing monthly financial close is required. Experience in performing and managing charge audit functions is necessary. Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Experience managing others is necessary.
