Job Description
The Vice President of New Educational Ventures (NEV) at Sarah Lawrence College is looking for a Manager to report directly to her. The Vice President, a member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the president, has been tasked with creating distinctive educational offerings that build on Sarah Lawrence College's strengths to meet emerging market needs.

The Manager will have an exciting opportunity to help create and implement innovative ventures to assist a renowned educational institution lead within a changing higher education landscape.The Manager will work with teams within the College to identify and implement potential solutions for a specific growth opportunity or challenge. Together with the team, the Manager will help identify new revenue opportunities and design and deliver end-to-end solutions that the Programs need to become high-performance.

Over the course of each project, the Manager will gather and analyze information, formulate, and test hypotheses, and develop and communicate recommendations, help develop and assist with implementation plans, as well as monitor performance against designated KPIs in collaboration with team members. The Manager will also present results to the leadership team.

The role is hybrid. Alternate work arrangements would be considered.



Essential Duties Summary
  • Structure ambiguous problems and take action to solve them



  • Synthesize clear takeaways and recommendations from complex information using both qualitative and quantitative methods

  • Liaise with offices across the College, including Finance, Marketing, IT, HR, and various senior leaders

  • Work effectively with diverse teams to come up with the best solution that move people and organizations to act

  • Establish trust-based relationships with clients to better serve their organizations

  • Communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner

  • Develop your leadership style, leveraging your own passions, strengths, and personal values




Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree (BA) required with a consistent track record of strong academic performance and high learning agility in an analytical area of study



  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis

  • Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to establish trust-based relationships with faculty and staff to better serve their organizations

  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team and create and an inclusive environment with people at all levels of the organization

  • Capability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time

  • Comfort with ambiguous, ever-changing situations

  • Flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed

  • Mastery of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and a high degree of cultural competency
