    About Melbourne Business School
Melbourne Business School is the University of Melbourne's graduate school of business and economics, the home of Australia's top-ranked MBA and business analytics degrees, and a trusted executive education partner to some of the largest organizations in Australia and Southeast Asia.

With a purpose to unleash ideas and leaders for a sustainable future, the School's vision is to be among the top-ranked providers of business education within the Asia–Pacific region, the first choice for students and clients seeking award and non-award business education and to be esteemed globally as a leading supplier of academic and business research.

The School was established in 1955 to serve the needs of Australian businesses and continues to be jointly owned by the University and the business community to this day.

    About The Role
The Dean is the Director of the School, a Professor and Co-Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Melbourne and a member of the MBS Board. The Dean's key priorities will include:

  • Vision and strategy - Provide bold vision and leadership to strengthen and grow programs to further advance the School's strong reputation for preparing the next generation of business leaders. Continue to advance its standing as a highly ranked premium business school in the region and the world.
  • Revenue growth and financial sustainability - Maximize current and drive new revenue streams to ensure a strong financial position. Increase the size of the MBA class, grow Executive Education, successfully advance the new Online MBA program, and identify and deliver new revenue-generating programs.
  • Engagement and culture - Build rapport with the MBS community, promoting a people-first culture of transparency and inclusion in which stakeholders have an opportunity to provide input into decision-making processes. Provide the inspiration and leadership that builds a culture to enable MBS to fully capitalize on the talent, energy and commitment of the faculty, professional staff and student body to achieve its strategic outcomes.
  • Relationship with the University and business community - Continue deepening relationships with the University of Melbourne, while ensuring the correct balance between integration and independence. Grow credibility and closer connections with the business community – maintaining relevance and academic rigor. Personally engage and extend relationships with national and international business communities in the development of opportunities for the School.
  • Digital and technological transformation - Expedite change readiness and bring stakeholder groups – students, alumni, faculty, the University and corporate partners -- on the transformational journey toward the new MBS digital platform. Lead the transformation and grow the online MBA and education programs across multiple geographies and markets.
