Marketing Specialist



Roles

Northwood University is seeking a talented and results-driven marketing specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the marketing and communications team to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive enrollment growth and increase brand awareness. As a marketing specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the University to create marketing campaigns, implement plans and promotions, and generate leads.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with developing and executing marketing plans that align with Northwood's objectives and target audiences
  • Analyze market research and consumer behavior to identify trends, insights and new opportunities for target marketing
  • Manage marketing campaign projects from concept to execution, including budget management and performance measurement
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications team to develop promotional materials, website and social media content, and traditional media advertising
  • Identify and evaluate new channels for reaching target audiences, such as events, sponsorships, and partnerships
  • Work with vendors to secure space, manage procurement, and promote trade show events and education fairs through marketing and advertising channels for various university departments
  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns using various channels including digital and traditional mediums
  • Collaborate with the University’s admissions teams to develop recruitment materials that support lead generation efforts
  • Help manage the company's social media accounts, including content creation, posting, and community management
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, using data to guide decision-making
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field
  • Work in a higher education environment preferred, but not required
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on digital and content marketing
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms including production management systems, CRMs, and lead generation software
  • Familiarity with website CMS platforms and measurement tools, such as WordPress and GA4 analytics
  • Experience in SEO analytics
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to guide decision-making
  • Creative mindset, with a passion for developing innovative marketing campaigns
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products preferred
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
