Job Description

The Roy G. Perry College of Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

  • Develop courses and laboratories.

  • Submit proposals for internal and external funding and publish scholarly papers.

  • Advise students each semester on course selection.

  • Mentor students in the area of professional development.

  • Serve on committees at the department, college and university levels.

  • Participate in service to the mechanical engineering profession.

  • Assist in special events or initiatives as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Demonstrated academic expertise in education and research or relevant professional practice in mechanical engineering.

  • Ability to teach courses in one or both of the following broad topical areas: mechanical design, thermal-fluid sciences.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to use virtual technology and related software to support online teaching.
