Job Description
The Roy G. Perry College of Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor.
Responsibilities:
- Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Develop courses and laboratories.
- Submit proposals for internal and external funding and publish
scholarly papers.
- Advise students each semester on course selection.
- Mentor students in the area of professional development.
- Serve on committees at the department, college and university
levels.
- Participate in service to the mechanical engineering
profession.
- Assist in special events or initiatives as assigned.
- Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
discipline.
- Demonstrated academic expertise in education and research or
relevant professional practice in mechanical engineering.
- Ability to teach courses in one or both of the following broad
topical areas: mechanical design, thermal-fluid sciences.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use virtual technology and related software to
support online teaching.
