The Electronic Resources & Serials Specialist's primary job function is to facilitate maximum accessibility of serials and electronic resources in all formats for those who use both the library's physical collection and its online resources. This position works with the Assistant Director of Collections Strategies and Discovery and the Research Services team and provides support for serials in both print and electronic formats. The incumbent hires, develops, and supervises Student Assistants performing routine tasks and maintains frequent contact with other library staff and vendors. This position supports Library & Information Technology's academic mission by helping to ensure enhanced and seamless means of discovery of and access to collections in all formats to drive engagement and bring greater value to scholars.

Job Duties:
- Works closely with the Assistant Director of Collection Strategies and Discovery and other staff members to ensure a shared understanding and vision for the development and growth of our library collections
- Performs online ordering, receiving, and claiming for serials and electronic resources
- Manages the lifecycle of our subscriptions in the integrated library system (ILS) acquisitions manager
- Maintains Bucknell's electronic collections, including ebooks, serials, databases, images, data sets, and streaming video services
- Collaboratively creates agendas, generates usage reports, and tracks and executes decisions of the Collection Development committees
- Communicates effectively with vendors, librarians, campus constituents, and other stakeholders
- Arranges training and coordinates promotions for new and changing platforms
- Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Collection Strategies and Discovery and procurement and budgeting office to ensure sustainability of ongoing budgetary commitments
- Works with IT staff to ensure seamless authentication/integration into Bucknell's single sign-on environment
- Maintains knowledge of current and emerging trends, issues, and best practices in academic library services and actively identifies relevant initiatives for local implementation
- Hires, trains, and supervises student assistants in completion of maintaining collection
- Performs other tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability and enthusiasm for learning new technology tools, applications, etc.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as excellent coordination and organization abilities
- Strong customer service perspective and a commitment to providing high-quality services to the campus community

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with serials and periodicals, and/or academic libraries
- Demonstrated ability to guide, lead, and develop student employees

Physical Demands:
This position includes periods of active movement and transporting or carrying materials.

Work Type:
This is a full-time staff non-exempt position.

This position may be considered for scheduling flexibility to include hybrid/remote work based on staffing and business needs in compliance with the University's HR and Payroll requirements. This position would be expected to report to campus several times per month (i.e. in person training, team meetings).
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
Salary Range:
This is a staff non-exempt position with a hiring range of $19.41 to $24.26 (NE10). The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
