Job Description
This position will serve as the primary marketing, communications, and customer relations manager within the Department of Residential Life. Responsibilities include promoting and communicating the benefits of residence hall living to customers including current and prospective students, parents, and university staff and faculty. This position is a strong partner and collaborator with the Marketing and Communications, Enrollment Management, Dining Services, and other teams in the performance of the duties and responsibilities. The Department of Residential Life manages the on-campus residence halls which house up to 2200 students in traditional, suite, and apartment style facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management in relation to recruitment and orientation of students; represent department at Admission and New Student Program events; coordinate all tour opportunities within the residence halls.
  • Manage the Residential Life website and recommend improvements and enhancements. Update regularly and ensure all information is current, accurate, and meets established marketing and communications standards.
  • Develop a social media strategy and coordinate all social media presence for the department. Post regularly on social media.
  • Coordinate the creation and regular revision of marketing materials through either inhouse creation for small scale projects or in collaboration with University Communication and Marketing for larger scale items.
  • Recommend and assist with implementation for enhancements to the Star Rez housing information system in order to provide streamlined and enhanced service to students and staff.
  • Serve as the university branding expert within the department. Train and advise staff on the use of branded images. Liaison with Marketing and Communications to stay current on marketing policies and guidelines, serve on committees, provide input on projects or surveys, and/or engage in or perform other related assignments as appropriate.
  • Liaison with Dining Services to promote and market meal plans to both residential and off-campus students.
  • Lead customer service efforts for the department and train students and staff on effective customer service.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience working and/or living in residence halls
