Senior Associate Director, Business Analytics (Development and Alumnae Relations)

Job Summary:
Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Business Analytics, the Senior Associate Director, Business Analytics provides strategic and tactical support to the Barnard Development and Alumnae Relations team and other areas of the College by analyzing, interpreting, and providing demographic and financial data in order to provide key information used to determine strategy and decision making. This role supports Development (Principal Giving, Major Giving, Annual Giving, Special Events, Planned Giving, and Campaign fundraising) and Alumnae Relations areas and matches the data needs from these areas with reporting and process solutions / process building. The Senior Associate Director acts as the Director's second, and helps to provide data to other areas of the College including but not limited to Beyond Barnard, Communications, the President's Office, and Academic departments.

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create reports and data extracts for Development and Alumnae Relations, as well as other departments throughout the College, ensuring that all reporting meets internal and external standards.
  • Work to identify system and process improvements to improve quality and efficiency as appropriate as well as data integrity analysis.
  • Develop reports to streamline and standardize quality control and reporting across the department.
  • Analyze metrics, results, trends etc. and share findings with senior staff and colleagues to inform strategy and measure effectiveness of outreach, engagement, etc.
  • Work with the Director to create and provide reports to Finance for monthly reconciliation process, and additional reports as requested.
  • Work closely with the Senior Salesforce Systems Administrator to develop reports, dashboards, automations, etc. to best leverage the power of the CRM.
  • Maintain an understanding of all Business Analytics functions in order to provide necessary back up other staff members.
  • Stay current with CASE management reporting. standards, and federal privacy regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to gather requirements, design, develop, maintain, and distribute complex reports and data for non-technical audiences
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while having the ability to shift work seamlessly when priorities change
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with multiple constituencies with tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be able to write and communicate in both technical and non-technical terms
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to interpret and analyze large amounts of data across multiple systems and draw accurate conclusions
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving competence
  • Ability to adhere strictly to rules regarding confidential information
  • Must meet the department's core values of collaboration, aspiration, transparency, respect, accountability, and trust.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Five to seven years of experience with reporting and data analytics
  • Familiarity with relational databases/CRMs
  • Familiarity with predictive modeling
  • Expert-level Excel knowledge


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in related field
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience working with Salesforce native reporting and complimentary applications (Affinaquest, Blackthorn, Marketing Cloud, and/or Validity)
  • Experience with Business Objects
  • Knowledge of fundraising practices
  • Previous experience in higher education


Additional Information:
  • This job is currently a hybrid position and may require a presence in the office up to five times a week, including for team and full staff meetings, events, and other times as directed by the supervisor.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform customary office tasks such as sitting, computing, and attending virtual meetings for moderate to prolonged periods of time combined with light to moderate reaching, bending and lifting.


Salary Range: $85,000 to $90,000
