Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key apprenticeship team member communicating project related information on the EV: Hub at conferences, meetings, and other engagements Document major deliverables under the ABA grant with the U.S. Department of Labor (e.g., quarterly reports) and AACC Stakeholders (e.g., Executive Office) Systematize individual and group technical assistance and evaluations with community colleges and key partners to successfully support registered apprentices Draft technical assistance reports, project updates, internal and external communication materials in collaboration with the Executive Director, Apprenticeships Manage national network partner deliverables and coordinate technical assistance from those partners to the community colleges Support in the research, organization, and synthesis of the collection and development of tactical tools and resource materials for colleges to engage with the effort and elevate their own apprenticeship practices; ensure the collection is posted and cross- referenced on appropriate websites and made available to partner organizations Establish and maintain effective internal monitoring over AACC’s U.S. Department of Labor ABA grant related to apprenticeship to provide reasonable assurance that these federal funds are managed in a way that is compliant with all applicable federal statues, regulations, and the terms and conditions of the federal award Assist in managing sub-award agreements and the monitoring performance. Immediately alert AACC executives and recommend prompt and appropriate action if any evidence of noncompliance is noted Receive, accumulate, and organize project documentation associated with initiative to the funder and from all parties, including, but not limited to, contracts, modifications, and tax forms. Ensure consistent, accurate, and complete documentation across all partners on behalf of AACC at least two weeks prior to each federal reporting period, to ensure time for executive review (along with CFO) and on-time submission for external reporting Regularly collect and review financial documents (with AACC business office and CFO) and programmatic information tethered to financial payments (e.g. amount of apprentices, meeting technical assistance benchmarks) to support AACC in billing of the funder and processing of payments Working with Executive Director, Apprenticeships, take reasonable measures to safeguard protected personal or organizational information involved in the initiative

 

designated as sensitive by the U.S. Department of Labor, AACC, or any partner organizations

 

  • Ensure monthly spending is on track by regular review of monthly financials with Executive Director, Apprenticeships Together with the Executive Director, Apprenticeships, coordinate finances within budget guidelines and engage in monthly financial analysis in such areas as forecasting, budgeting, and reviewing operational performance. Oversee financial aspects through close-out

 

 

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Five years of workforce and economic development experience Associate degree or equivalent professional experience and 3 years of work experience Direct experience working with DOL-approved or State Office of Apprenticeship - approved Registered Apprenticeship Programs required Experience in multi-year, multi-partner project management Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite

 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of apprenticeship or work-based learning experiences for students in community colleges Community College experience welcomed A highly collaborative team approach to complex tasks, both within AACC and with partner organizations Superior project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities on tight timelines Stellar verbal and written communication skills demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with college presidents, organizational leaders, and national level partner executives Military experience welcomed

 

 

Geographic Requirement: This position will be housed at the AACC headquarters in Washington, DC. AACC is currently working a hybrid in office schedule subject to change.

 

 

 

Status: This is a federally funded position and is contingent on receipt and continuation of federal funds and on satisfactory evaluation of performance. This position is available through June 30, 2026. This job is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. The position description may not list all the functions of the job.
