Summary of Job Duties:Develops and implements practical maintenance training programs in electrical
motors controls/drives, programmable logic controllers, hydraulics/pneumatics, pumps, mechanical power transmission, rotating equipment alignment, preventative maintenance and predictive or reliability centered maintenance for manufacturing and processing industries. This position reports to the Executive Director of the Center for Economic Development.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: ​
Associate Degree and five years or more experience in the industrial maintenance field, with certification and/or degree in electrical or mechanical technical field. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree, Experience in higher education, familiarity with Amatrol E-learning or Tooling U-SME E-learning is preferred. Additionally, knowledge of the following topics is preferred: blueprint reading, welding, machining, computer integrated manufacturing, lean manufacturing, problem solving, robotics, and safety. Prior teaching and/or management experience in the industrial maintenance field.

  • Teach electrical-mechanical maintenance curriculum courses and corresponding laboratories to meet needs of local industrial and businesses.
  • Assist in determining local industrial and business community needs and develop the program and courses to satisfy those needs.
  • Assist in planning and implementing programs to recruit incumbent workers to various programs.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with area school districts, business, and industry.
  • Participate in professional development in related area.
  • Serve on College, University and/or service committees.
Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintaining consistent on-time attendance.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork with colleagues, students, and local business and industry personnel.

Additional Information:

Working Relationships: Maintain positive collaboration with industry personnel as well as CED team. Has frequent contact with university staff, faculty, and students. Frequent contact with personnel from other agencies, institutions, and the general public.

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office/classroom and laboratory setting. Must be able to travel occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. Required abilities include walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods. Visual demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to 10 pounds. Delivery of classes may require some evening or weekend work.

Background Check Requirements: Criminal background check, motor vehicle registry (MVR) check, sex offender registry, and drug screening.

Salary Information:

$60,000-80,000/year, commensurate with education and experience
