The City Colleges of Chicago Foundation (CCCF) exists to secure philanthropic resources to support a wide array of educational programs and services available to support the students, alumni, faculty and staff of City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) through various programs and initiatives.

REVISED PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement- CCC Foundation, theManager - Foundation Scholarshipssupports the Advancement team and the President of the Foundation to enhance efforts to increase donor contributions and with the stewardship of CCC’s growing portfolio of donor-funded scholarship programs, accountable for directing the utilization of funds in alignment with donor intent and best practices.

TheManager - Foundation Scholarshipspartners with key stakeholders to ensure the effective development and promotion of scholarship programs district-wide; works closely with district staff to support the administration of the scholarship application and awards; and oversees the efficient disbursement and tracking of scholarship funds and expenditures across campuses.

TheManager - Foundation Scholarshipsalso organizes and administers special events associated with scholarship programs; develops annual scholarship budget projections; and ensures the timely and regular reporting of scholarship fund expenditures by the colleges. Performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Manages CCC Foundation’s scholarship funds, serving on various scholarship committees and presenting data and recommendations on best practices for utilizing funds and developing effective scholarship programs.
  • Works collaboratively with staff in Academic and Student Affairs and other college administrators to develop scholarship programs that optimize the use of funds received from various donors to support student enrollment, retention, and graduation/completion.
  • Maintains effective communications and working relationships with donor sources, including the CCC Foundation, to ensure donors are apprised of the impact(s) of their gifts in supporting students achieve their academic and career goals.
  • Works closely with Foundation Communications Manager and CCC Student Financial Aid to create, update, and maintain scholarship web pages and related publications to promote and effectively publicize the availability of scholarship programs.
  • Administers scholarship programs, working with college administrators in determining scholarship guidelines, developing applications and selection processes, organizing committees, monitoring student interviews, and overseeing the awarding of scholarship funds.
  • Collaborates with CCCF Financial Team to determine scholarship budgets and annual scholarship budget projections.
  • Prepares scholarship reports, detailing usage, spend down, impact, and summaries of highlights and areas of improvement for Foundation and CCC leadership.
  • Maintain the Blackbaud Scholarship Awards Management System in collaboration with CCC Student Financial Aid.
  • Contributes to a positive image of CCC by coordinating representation of CCC by faculty and staff at various scholarship award events, CCC Foundation events, and other recognition events.
  • Adheres to professional and ethical standards established by relevant professional organizations, such as the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the National Association of Student financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA).
  • Coordinates the review of appeals from students for exceptions to scholarship policies.
  • Participates as a critical member of the Development Team in bi-weekly team meetings, regular reports on progress towards goals and objectives, and team annual planning.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Three to five years of experience in a college or university in areas of Development, Student Financial Aid, or Scholarship Office
  • Substantial experience in scholarship administration is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding scholarships and student financial aid
  • A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on an applicant’s credentials
  • Knowledge of CCC policies related to scholarships and student financial aid preferred
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to issues related to the recruitment and retention of a diverse student body is required.
  • Leadership skills with ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the institution
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Ability to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization and with various stakeholders

  • Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment
