Job Description

The University of Indianapolis is currently seeking an Associate Adjunct in the School of Nursing.

This part-time faculty position will support the fulfillment of the University’s mission, purpose, and goals, focusing primarily on facilitating online student learning associated with prescribed course and program learning outcomes.

The faculty position will create an educational environment that fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability, working with various schools and colleges across campus in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet student learning, workplace, and placement expectations.

The faculty member will actively and substantially participate in the assessment of online student learning activities to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet prescribed outcomes.

An Associate Adjunct is responsible for teaching 18-21 credit hours on a year-round distributed assignment that is eligible for renewal.

Responsibilities - Associate Adjunct, School of Nursing
  • Delivers courses with clear outcomes, meaningful assignments, and transparent and timely assessment
  • Models effective teaching and professionalism
  • Manages inclusive and responsive learning environments
  • Attends and participates collaboratively in virtual department and faculty meetings
  • Remains flexible and responsive in teaching and conducts office hours weekly posted in the course for students
  • Coordinates the use of academic coaches as necessary based on course enrollments
Qualifications - Associate Adjunct, School of Nursing
  • Master's degree in Nursing required for ABSN; Doctorate required for teaching in any graduate program
  • Prior experience with distance education techniques and delivery required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior experience working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process
  • Must maintain any professional certifications deemed necessary to meet the requirements of the teaching role
  • A documented background in currency with concepts relative to specific subjects being taught or current clinical practice experience
