University Advancement is seeking a Coordinator for the Center for Career Advancement (CCA) to welcome and interact with guests and provide support for a variety of projects and events. You will use your organizational skills to manage multiple projects and tasks to provide effective and timely support services and work in an environment where ideas for improvement are welcome and encouraged.

In this role, you will:

  • Carry out responsibilities with the highest level of confidentiality and attention to detail while working closely with the CCA team and other campus partners.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for students and other inquiries from walk-ins, phone, or emails. Make decisions regarding referrals for services and information.
  • Train and oversee the CCA interns to provide quality service in the Resource room and provide other office support functions.
  • Maintain data for confidential student and alumni records utilizing CCA and UA databases. Help with updating information with other systems such as alumni job postings.
  • Handle scheduling for CCA appointments, mock interviews, and scheduling use of interview rooms.

  • Has a High school diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of professional experience in an office setting OR a bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrates ability to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those that are sensitive in nature
  • Demonstrates exceptional organizational and time management skills, independently setting own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines
  • Demonstrates proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Word and Excel, presentation software, and Google Suite and commitment to learning CCA-specific technology and tools.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in grammar, document formatting, proofreading, and research

  • Additional experience (Preferred):
  • Experience providing office or program support in a college setting
  • Experience with advanced features of Excel and database reports (pull, sort, and analyze comparative data)
  • Experience in coordination of large and small-scale events

  • This position (and all positions in our division) requires the occasional evening and weekend work to support university events including Homecoming/Family Weekend, Reunion Weekend, and large Career events. We do ask staff to mark their calendars in advance for these events. Also, may occasionally coordinate on-campus or off-campus events/activities outside of standard business hours.

University Advancement (UA) is here to advance the mission of Bucknell University by engaging the Bucknell community. It is only through the support of alumni, parents and friends - by opening doors to career opportunities, engaging others to join the conversation and community, and entrusting us with their philanthropic commitments -- that we can further elevate Bucknell as a leader in undergraduate education.
