Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Management in the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago invites candidates to apply for a full-time faculty appointment in the Management and Human Resources ( HRM ) area, beginning in Fall 2023. This position has an initial one-year appointment and renewal is based on teaching needs. Previous teaching experience in Management/ HRM in a University setting is highly preferred. Professional experience in General Management/Human Resources is expected. Evidence of professional leadership and recognition (such as participation and leadership in industry associations, or presentations of research or significant achievements in the field of Management and HRM ) are highly desired.

The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate or graduate HRM and Management courses under the mentorship of experienced faculty who oversee the curriculum. Administrative responsibilities include participation in faculty discussions to develop and maintain an appropriate curriculum for Management and HRM programs. Other opportunities may include advising our student-led HR Student Association, directing the MSHR program, and/or leading the Institute of HRER .

In addition to teaching and administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will also build relationships with the business community in the Chicago area to support Internship and Mentorship projects through Loyola’s MSHR and MBA programs.

Qualifications

An earned master’s degree in business administration, HRM, or a closely related field is highly desirable and required for graduate level teaching; leadership experience in business and industry; and teaching experience. Qualified candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to the mission of the University. Of special interest are candidates who can further the University’s efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Summer school employment is available based on program needs and other personnel considerations.
