Department Summary
The Department of Mathematics is an academic unit of the University of Oregon within the College of Arts and Sciences. The department is dedicated to education and research. It provides instruction at all levels of mathematics, from undergraduate required courses through an extensive graduate program leading to PhD in several specific areas of mathematics. The department has over 30 tenured/tenure-track faculty members who are actively involved in research and instruction; 5 postdoctoral scholars; approximately 20 career and pro-tempore instructors; over 65 Graduate Students/Employees (GEs) who teach lower division courses; and nearly 100 undergraduate student workers. The Department of Mathematics has over 300 undergraduate majors.

Position Summary
The University of Oregon's Mathematics Department invites applications for up to three non-tenure track, assistant professor appointments at 1.0 FTE (9-month appointment), beginning September 16, 2022 and ending June 15, 2023. The positions are renewable for up to a total of three years based on needs and available funding. These positions will be partially funded by the NSF grant “RTG: Combinatorics, Geometry, Representation Theory, and Topology” at the University of Oregon and are contingent on availability of funds. Applicants should be in research areas connected to one of these four fields and should have an interest in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. For the purpose of acquiring additional professional skills needed to pursue a career path in the chosen field, this position will have a formal mentor plan.

Minimum Requirements
PhD in mathematics, statistics, or closely related field, an outstanding record of research potential in an area of interest to the department, and evidence of teaching ability.
