Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Part-Time Catering and Special Events Coordinator position.  The Part-Time Catering and Special Events Coordinator is responsible for providing a range of services to enhance the students' on-hand experience and service the school’s stakeholders through catering requests. This is accomplished by serving internal departments on campus by providing culinary and baking catered food with student help. This creative person should understand basic food knowledge and flavor combinations. This role works with professional staff, faculty, and students. Students are either in class or during their practicum experience supporting the requests in this role. This position has campus-wide responsibilities and may involve travel between campuses.

 

*This position requires morning, evening, and weekend availability to execute events and requests.

 

**This position will serve both the Pottstown and the Blue Bell campuses; must have a valid driver's license.

 

***This position requires the new hire to submit the Child Abuse clearance, the PA State Police clearance, and FBI Fingerprint results to Human Resources, prior to their first day of employment.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Associate degree in a related field preferred with 3+ years restaurant or professional kitchen experience or high school diploma/GED with at least 5+ years of professional kitchen experience Current SERV Safe Certifications Must have a valid driver’s license Ability to train, develop, and delegate appropriately to students in Practicum Ability to manage multiple event orders and timelines at one time Creative with food pairings, tastings & other food related services Strong customer focus with clear and effective communication styles Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
