Social Justice Academy Program Assistant (Temporary)

Position Summary:
Monmouth University seeks applications for a Program Assistant for the Social Justice Academy (SJA), housed in the School of Education. The Social Justice Academy is a grant-funded initiative with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2025; therefore, the Program Assistant role is considered temporary. The candidate would assist the Director and Assistant Director of the Social Justice Academy with the overall management of the academy. The candidate would be expected to act as a liaison between the academy, University personnel, K-12 partner districts, the grant funders (the Grunin Foundation), and other college partners at Brookdale Community College, Georgian Court University, and Ocean County College. In addition, the candidate will assist with accounts payable processes, report management, webpage and promotional assistance, event coordination, ordering of academy materials, and email and phone correspondence. Candidate must be fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drives. The candidate will serve as a critical team member in support of the overall goals of the academy.

Basic Knowledge of MS Word 2016, Basic Knowledge of MS Excel 2016, Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment

Required Years of Experience: 1

Other Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of experience. Basic knowledge of Google Drives. Knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)



Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of and appreciation for social justice initiatives; General understanding of K-12 environments, previous experience working with accounts payable offices and overall grant oversight.
