About the Opportunity

As a DevOps Engineer supporting our Linux environments, you will be responsible for the automation, deployment, and maintenance of a portfolio of applications running on Linux. This position will have a strong focus on using products like Ansible, Salt, Terraform, Jenkins, Github, etc. to ensure reproducible environments that are able to scale out both on-premises via VMWare as well as move to the cloud (Azure, AWS).

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related subject; an advanced degree is preferred.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge in automating system and application lifecycles
  • Working knowledge of enterprise data center technologies including storage platforms, network switching, and security infrastructure within a virtualized data center
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
  • Adept at evaluating problems accurately and displaying sound judgment
  • Scripting (python, etc.) skills for monitoring and automation
  • Experience maintaining an infrastructure and ensuring stability while adding new features
  • Ability to clearly articulate design and implementation choices
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
  • Possess a strong grasp of automation tools
  • Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders


Key Responsibilities

Maintain and enhance enterprise environment:
  • Build/Deploy new systems and applications,
  • Ensure reliability and security via patching and controls,
  • Move to Infrastructure as Code (IaC)


Create documentation and process improvements
  • Heavy focus on automation
  • Evaluate, recommend, and build environments and tools to improve/modernize infrastructure


Request fulfillment
  • Work with other IT and business owners to process requests
  • Troubleshoot issues and remediate

The expected hiring range $95,130 to $121,295 based on the position's scope and responsibilities.
