Director-Strategic Partnerships
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Regional Dean of the San Jose and San Francisco Campuses, the Director of Strategic Partnerships will serve as a member of the regional campus leadership team, responsible for the strategy and implementation of new and innovative initiatives and partnerships to better connect the regional campus priorities with the employment and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the region. This position plays a key role in realizing the vision of Northeastern University and all the activities that the academic enterprise entails to position the University as a strong asset in the region.
The Director will build and nurture strong relationships with key university administrators and employers and workforce investment boards in the region to unlock exceptional experiential learning and employment opportunities for Northeastern students; partner with the B2B team and the colleges at Northeastern to support the design, launch, and scale of new products and source opportunities. In addition, the director will represent Northeastern at key industry events and conferences with a focus on deepening employer engagement to build brand and secure strategic partnerships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Education
Administration, or a relevant field. Advanced degree
preferred
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Proven track record of developing successful strategic
partnerships in the field of technology and education, with a
strong focus on establishing connections with industry/workforce
entities with focus on developing partnerships that lead to
co-operative education, student employment and Prior experience
preferred
- Advanced understanding of workforce development trends in the
region, existing relationships with employers and workforce related
entities, aligned with Northeastern's focus areas, is
preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate multiple
tasks while delivering the highest level of customer service
- Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff across colleges
& departments including Deans, Associate Deans, Program
Directors and other academic administrators
- Ability to thrive in an innovative and creative culture in a
growth focused organization
- Self-starter, creative and motivated with exceptional
communication skills
- Action-oriented, with the ability to to adapt in a dynamic
environment
- Proven ability to steward and motivate others
- Mission driven, fueled by the desire to make education
accessible and inclusive
- Organizational tact and diplomacy; possesses superb
interpersonal skills required to develop close relationships with
external partners and key influencers around campus and the broader
University.
- Demonstrated ability to build internal and external
collaborations, finding solutions benefiting all parties and
focusing on long-term success over short-term results.
- Ability to serve as an ambassador for the University in the
region; representing the Dean and campus strategic interests when
appropriate
- Flexibility for frequent travel within the region and as needed
to Boston/NU regional campuses.
- Experience with Salesforce and other key CRM systems and
processes, preferred
The expected hiring range for this position is USD $123,395 to USD $160,410, based upon the position's scope and responsibilities.
