Upward Bound Project Director

Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time Upward Bound (UB) Project Director. This grant-funded faculty position is responsible for providing the overall leadership and administration of the Kutztown University Upward Bound program with the Allentown School District – William Allen High School; supervising staff; designing, managing and implementing all aspects of the program’s components; ensuring compliance with federal regulations; and for meeting the program’s goals, objectives and outcomes. The director will be responsible for planning and implementing all program activities outlined in the grant proposal, developing and selecting curriculum materials, and participating in academic year activities including after-school and weekend activities, as well as a 6-week summer program.

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: a Master’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs, Psychology, or a related field; 3-5 years of experience working with youth programs and/or in an educational setting; demonstrated experience in designing, managing or implementing similar programs. Preferred: Doctorate degree in Education, Educational Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs, Psychology, or a related field; bilingual English/Spanish; demonstrated experience with supervising multiple professional staff.
