Position Summary
Teach undergraduate STEM Business Honors courses, preparing students majoring in science, engineering, math, and creative disciplines such as dance, theater, and advertising, for graduate study in business. Instruction covers overview of all business disciplines and the role of these disciplines in business. Instruct students in the development of business models for innovative new products and businesses. Work with students and STEM Path to the MBA and CREATE Path to the MBA programs director to develop potential startups. Will teach 12 credit hours per semester.

Detailed Position Information
The Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama invites applications for a non-tenure earning, three-year renewable position in STEM Business Honors effective August 16, 2023.

The successful candidate must have the ability to mentor young people, interact with graduate faculty, work with STEM business executives, and have exceptional interpersonal skills. The position holder must have excellent communication skills. The individual must be creative, have the ability to prioritize, and think strategically. Also key is the ability to identify commercialization opportunities for intellectual property and related business opportunities.

Candidate should exhibit strong team and student management skills. Substantial work experience in science or engineering will be important to success. Must be able to mentor undergraduate students and work with faculty and industry supporters. Excellent communications skills strongly desired. This position is a three year, non-tenure earning position renewable at the discretion of the University with no expectation of continued employment beyond the contract period. Advancing the vision, mission, and goals of The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse STEM Path to the MBA Program and CREATE Path to the MBA Program. Teaching will include undergraduate STEM Business Honors courses.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or creative discipline and Master’s degree in business discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
At least 5 years work experience in science or engineering is preferred.
