The Admissions Counselor will serve as the initial and primary
point of contact for prospective students in the School of
Education for the Graduate (master's) programs focuses on advanced
certification. The Admissions Counselor will work with the Vice
President for Enrollment Management and the SOE Assistant Dean to
develop and execute a comprehensive enrollment strategy
(recruitment and retention) to meet institutional goals for the
graduate adult populations.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Actively promote and support marketing communications for the
SOE programs and recruit new students via networking, social media,
email, phone, on- and off-campus information sessions and college
fairs.
Interview prospective students and provide information to
include the evaluation of transfer credit, explanation of the
academic programs and course requirements, tuition payment options
and financial aid.
Serve as a coordinator for addressing needs of specific
cohorts- assisting students in applying for admission to the
program and facilitating registrations for students in start-term
courses in collaboration with the professional academic
advisor.
Serve as the representative for Notre Dame with all
partners.
Coordinate and participate in special events such as
information sessions, open houses for prospective new students and
chat programs with current and prospective students. Also support
new student orientation programs at the start of the fall and
spring semesters.
Travel for recruitment activities, including business and
regional fairs, especially graduate program admissions fairs.
Attend Admissions staff meetings and participate in
University-wide committees as deemed appropriate by AVPEM.
Assist with the development and implementation of special
projects to include (but not limited to) recruitment and
informational brochures, letters and invitations, web updates,
social media outreach and other marketing/outreach projects.
Support Dean and Associate Vice President for Enrollment
Management in communicating marketing support needs.

Qualifications:
- Knowledge : A bachelor’s degree is required; ideal candidate will have background aligned with SOE programs.
- Experience : A minimum of two years full-time work experience is required. Experience in new student recruitment, or admissions is preferred. A valid driver’s license and good driving record is also required. Ellucian/Datatel or other database management experience a plus.
- Skills/Aptitude : Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent communication skills, computer & database literate, strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to be a self-motivator and to work independently as well as with a team toward institutional goals is a must.
- Working Conditions : Normal office environment, some travel within Maryland, some evening and weekend hours are required to meet the needs of adult learners. Occasional attendance at weekend recruitment events is expected.
