The Agnes Scott College Department of Public Health is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health in the Fall of 2023. The successful applicant will have a minimum of a master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) and preferably have a Ph.D. or be ABD in a Ph.D. program. Candidates will also be asked to provide evidence of excellence in teaching, ideally at the undergraduate level.

The Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health course provides an introduction to and critical analysis of relevant social and behavioral science theories, models, and frameworks and their application to public health research and practice. In this upper-level course, students should develop health promotion strategies that are informed by theories, models, and frameworks and are tailored to a population’s specific context. Examining the role of social determinants of health and equity should play a central role in tailoring strategies for a broad range of populations. The course will be taught in person at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA.
