Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting

The Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise at Florida Southern College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, accounting faculty member to start in August 2023, with a primary teaching area in financial accounting. The candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Accounting and is expected to teach graduate and upper-division financial accounting as well as foundations of financial and managerial accounting. A secondary teaching area in an upper-level subject is desirable as well as experience teaching at the graduate level. Some classes may be held during evenings, summers, weekends, or online. The normal teaching load is three (3) four-hour courses per semester. Faculty members are expected to be actively engaged with students outside of the classroom. Interest in and appreciation for free enterprise and entrepreneurial values is important.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess an earned Ph.D. in Accounting (financial accounting specialty). CPA licensure is strongly preferred. The individual must be “Scholarly Academic” per AACSB standards. Teaching excellence, engaged learning, an applied orientation and collegiality are highly valued and expected of all Florida Southern College faculty.
