Senior Director, Design and Construction Services (SDDC)

Wayne State University seeks a collaborative, visionary, and transformative leader to serve as the Senior Director, Design and Construction Services (SDDC). Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Facilities Planning and Management, Robert Davenport, the SDDC is responsible for a compelling portfolio of architectural and design projects within the context of one of Michigan's top universities.

This is an exciting time to join Wayne State University's FP&M team as it continues to expand and evolve in alignment with a bold Master Plan that emphasizes sustainability, innovative design, and resource maximization. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Facilities Planning and Management, the Senior Director, Design and Construction (SDDC) will have the opportunity to coalesce design and construction practices to support the compelling mission of this top R1 university in one of the nation's most historic cities. The SDDC will lead a team of two Directors and will manage approximately $65 million in construction and design projects in an average year. Recent projects include the $60 million Hilberry Gateway, and the $80 million State Hall renovation projects. Of significance to the University is the upcoming construction project at the School of Medicine which will be the largest project in the history of the University.

The successful candidate will bring construction and architectural expertise from progressively responsible experiences which they draw upon to advance and support the work of Wayne State University. Through their professional experience and professional networks, they have a broad portfolio of deliverables and evidenced measures of success in construction and design within a team environment.
