Pay Range: $ 67,137.00 - $ 83,922.00 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Pay Grade: 58.58

Position Summary: The Operations Director oversees daily operations and coordinates community events at Olathe Health Education Center.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • three to five years command supervisor experience
  • two years mix of teaching and training experience
  • ability to work effectively with administrators, faculty, presenter, advisory committees and representatives of agencies and professional groups
  • well-developed written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in related field
  • three years of adult and continuing education programming experience
  • educational background including graduate level study in higher and adult education along with general knowledge of community colleges and their mission

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

Accountability and Safety - manages the day-to-day operation of the facility and ensures a safe learning environment. Performance is acceptable when he/she:

a. oversees the day-to-day operations of the OHEC facility to ensure and effective teaching and learning environment

b. manages the budgetary cost center for OHEC

c. provides prompt and courteous customer service at all times

d. provides front-line minor facilities assistance as needed

e. serves as the initial contact for matters related to the building, occupancy and scheduling spaces

f. aware and familiar with all emergency procedures

g. communicates changes in building hours and provides semester updates to building colleagues

h. notifies building colleagues of emergency situations

i. ensures building is staffed appropriately

j. directs Building Emergency Leaders (BEL) meetings and distributes safety procedure information

k. serves on Campus Security Authority

l. serves on Keep Our People Safe (KOPS) Advisory Board

Liaison - Fosters positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. Performance is acceptable when he/she:

a. provides timely, courteous communication with other departments on campus

b. collaborates with Security, Maintenance, Academic, Housekeeping, Instructional Technology departments on main JCCC campus to ensure an optimum learning environment is maintained

c. coordinates scheduling of instructional spaces

d. serves as a liaison for Student Services and Learner Engagement

e. communicates with faculty at OHEC on matters relating to building use, emergency procedures and logistics.

Events - Coordinates with community agencies to provide event space Performance is acceptable when he/she:

a. schedules events at OHEC in coordination with Olathe Medical Center staff, JCCC staff and the Olathe community

b. ensures rooms are set up for events in a timely manner to meet user needs/requests

c. arranges for catering and other support services as needed

d. assists event facilitators and presenters with event logistics

SERVE AS A CAMPUS SECURITY AUTHORITY (CSA) BY - reporting crimes to the designated JCCC Clery Act Officer in accordance with applicable laws, policies and procedures. Performance is acceptable when:

a. Completing training at least annually on campus safety and crime reporting issues;

b. Assisting in the issuance of timely emergency warnings

c. Serving as a resource to students, employees and others regarding crime prevention, reporting and victim assistance; and

d. Collaborating with the Clery Act Officer, Title IX Team, Clery Act Team and Emergency Preparedness Manager on various campus compliance issues
