The basics of this position:
The Web Content Specialist executes the established content strategy, bringing to life the storytelling initiatives for stlcc.edu, boosting organic SEO and online traffic. The Web Content Specialist will optimize web content and maintain the website content calendar by coordinating with internal teams ensuring the website is always a fresh and optimal online experience for a new generation of students.
What you'll do:
- •Optimizes and edits content to align with SEO best practices,
accessibility, readability, brand guidelines and other digital
marketing efforts.
•Maintains web editorial calendar, style guides, taxonomies, metadata frameworks and content migration plans.
•Supports partners within Marketing, Communications, and other key stakeholders across the organization in the creation, delivery and editing of website content.
•Assists with web-based test and learn strategies such as AB testing and user groups.
•Coordinates with Communications to manage content and schedule work.
•Provides proactive recommendations for site performance improvements.
•Performs content audits, keeping track of outdated/expired content as well as keyword research and gap analyses.
•Maintains a deep understanding of student journeys and needs to apply content and UX strategy according to business goals and objectives.
•Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field
•5-7 years proven experience in digital marketing with hands-on optimization and content creation experience
•Experience researching trends, competitor performance, and user behaviors.
•Experience driving SEO projects to completion.
•Experience using SEO tools such as Bright Edge, SEM Rush, etc.
•Experience with a website CMS, HTML and CSS.
•Experience creating websites for E-commerce with a CMS is preferred.
•Experience in Google Analytics and ability to make data-driven decisions.
•Experience with Adobe Creative Suite primarily Photoshop for resizing photos.
•Strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, editing and project management skills.
•Ability to juggle priorities, stay focused and act as a team player and creative thinker.
•Willing to learn on the job and sharpen skills through ongoing professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of agile methodology and process
• Experience building content strategies
• Knowledge of social media best practices
