Athletics Communication Director for Creative Content



Shenandoah University’s Office of Athletics is accepting applications for an Athletics Communication Director for Creative Content . This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.


The Athletics Communication Director for Creative Content assists with all aspects of media coverage for the university's 22 NCAA Division III programs. This position reports to the Associate Athletic Director and will take a role primarily centered on photography, graphics design, and digital content with additional responsibilities for web streaming and video board content. This person must be committed to excellence and to advancing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through social media channels, video, photography, and graphics content. This person is responsible for developing and executing a robust social media plan for the main department channels as well as sport-specific accounts. This position will identify opportunities for publicity of student-athletes, staff, and other institutional constituencies and enhance the student-athlete experience.


Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in graphic design, communications or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in collegiate or professional sports
  • Experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Premiere) and production programs.
  • Knowledge of current social and digital media trends
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
